A message from Scott:

I want to thank the voters, first of all, for honoring me and allowing me to serve you as your District Attorney during this, my first term. The support you showed me during the election by enabling me to return to serve you in a second term is overwhelming. I will strive to live up to the trust that you have placed in me. Please don’t hesitate to let me know how I can serve you better.

07/15/08:

A message from Scott:

I want to take this opportunity to thank the citizens of Fayette, Pike, Spalding, and Upson Counties for supporting me during my first term as your District Attorney and for your continued support during this election season. Teachers, I’ve seen you with the signs on your cars stating: “Educators for Ballard.” Criminals have seen that too.

Peace officers, I’ve seen your vehicles too. All over this circuit you have proclaimed your support for our stance on protecting the community with signs that say: “Law Enforcement for Ballard.” Criminals have seen you, too.

Many of you have signs on your cars that read: “Parents for Ballard.” Dozens of others simply state: “Re-Elect Ballard.” In either case, criminals have seen your cars.

Almost 1,500 of you have placed signs in your yards. Criminals have seen them.

All of those signs send another message to criminals. They tell them that together we are “Guarding What’s Ours.” Criminals know what that means. I don’t think they like it.

Let’s keep the partnership going. Please cast your vote for me, Scott Ballard, to continue as your District Attorney.

- Scott Ballard

Scott Ballard is "Guarding What's Ours"...

From Gangs:
When gangs tried to recruit in Fayette Schools, YOUR District Attorney fought back HARD with tough sentences for gang members who tried to recruit in our schools.

From Drugs:
“We asked Scott Ballard for a dedicated drug prosecutor. We got it. With him as D.A. drug cases are prepared and the results show in the convictions. I’m extremely satisfied with the D.A.’s office.”
- Capt. Mike Pruitt, Commander of the Fayette County Drug Task Force

Our Tax Dollars:
- Scott Ballard helped save taxpayers almost $2 million dollars by stopping non-resident students who tried to enter our schools illegally.
- Circuit wide, criminals funded eight positions in YOUR District Attorney’s office, saving taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past three years.
- Collected from criminals: $115,420.00 in Pre-Trial Diversion fees returned to the counties in the circuit.

Our Crime Victims:
“We are proud of the comprehensive services that we provide as a team. Mr. Ballard takes great care of our victims of domestic violence in the prosecution of such cases."
- The staff of Promise Place, a shelter for battered women that serves the entire Griffin Judicial Circuit

Our Children:
Most District Attorneys do not PERSONALLY try cases. Scott Ballard does. He tried many cases himself, including 5 child molesters who are now serving over 110 years in prison.
